Built alongside the Grand Union Canal and with the River Ouzel weaving its way through the course, it’s unsurprising that there are so many natural water hazards that come into play testing the nerves of all standards of golfer. The river is in play on five holes with the approach shots on the 15th and 7th greens requiring a correct yardage and clean striking to avoid going down amongst the fishes. In addition to the river, the lakes, ponds and ditches have been cleverly incorporated in the courses design.
Three Locks is a place that relies on course management. Finesse, accuracy and correct positioning of the ball will all be rewarded, players trying to overpower the course will very likely be heavily penalised. This is a true golfers course.
More than just a golf club…
